Nature & Purpose of Position
The selected Student Assistant will report to the Office of the Dean. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Sort and distribute mail and packages.
- Keep the front desk area clean and organized.
- Assist with various administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, and shredding.
- Run on-campus and off-campus errands as required.
- Assist with organizing supply closets and meeting rooms.
- Set up tables and chairs for events and reset furniture in rooms as needed.
- Help set up catering for events.
- Be a reliable source of information about the organization and department for visitors.
- Maintain a positive, upbeat, and professional attitude when interacting with others.
- Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate location or person.
- Process request forms and data with supervision and monitor the shared inbox.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the team.
Other Requirements for the Position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
- Physically capable of lifting 25-50 ibs
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be organized, task-oriented, and punctual.
- Professional demeanor.
- Preferred experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Applicants must be available to work 6-8 hours per day on assigned days. We will work around the student’s class schedule.
