Layout- Dar

This position is responsible for reviewing the materials list and identifying parts on shop drawings in order to complete the layout work necessary for each particular job piece. This position is responsible for accurately drilling, cutting, grinding, and modifying material based on the specific part drawing for the item on which the work is being done. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating drill press machines, cutting equipment, grinders and other work center equipment in order to complete the layout work as designed per the part drawing. This position is responsible to get the layout work completed accurately and efficiently and get the work ready move to the next work center. This position is responsible to work at a pace that continually keeps work moving through the system and ensures the promised ship dates are met.  This position must use knowledge of past projects to problem solve issues, assist others in problem solving, and train new employees to be proficient in their respective positions. This position must be able to effectively communicate with employees and supervisors. This position is responsible for ensuring production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis from one product to the next. This position is responsible for properly adhering to Company policies and complying with required standards for work orders and labor laws within the department on a continual basis from one project to the next and one employee to the next.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work at a safe and productive pace while keeping up with work load
• Effectively follow instructions and work by priority list
• Follow safety rules
• Be organized and keep necessary documents and prints update with any changes
• Properly and accurately use a tape measure
• Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)
• Other duties as assigned by management

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• Able to read and write at 3^rd grade level
• Able to read tape measure to 1/16” increments
• Able to pass basic math test
• Able to pass basic fractions test
• Able to operate basic power tools (grinder & drill)

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week
• Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates
• Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Ability to work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)
