Saltwater Deck, a beachfront restaurant in Long Beach, is hiring dependable and energetic team members.

Starting pay: $18 - $20 per hour
Experienced cooks and shift leaders may qualify for higher pay.
Summer Schedule: Monday –Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Full-time and part-time schedules are available.
Applicants must be dependable, able to work weekends and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Restaurant experience is preferred, but strong entry-level applicants will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are handled safely and efficiently for menu items
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and managing dishware collection to keep the dining area tidy
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment following safe lifting practices
- Serve food and beverages to guests with friendly, in-person customer service that enhances their experience
- Support food running duties by delivering orders from the kitchen to guest tables quickly and accurately
- Follow food safety protocols diligently during food handling and preparation to ensure compliance with health standards
- Assist with banquet setups or special event catering as needed, providing excellent guest services in a hospitality setting
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and guest satisfaction at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and interact positively with guests
- Experience with food preparation, serving, bussing, or banquet work is a plus
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety in the kitchen environment
