Position Summary
As a Banquet Cook, you will play a key role in preparing and executing food for events ranging from intimate dinners to large-scale functions. This position requires urgency, consistency, organization, and the ability to perform under service timelines.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare hot and cold food items for banquet events, buffets, receptions, and plated meals
- Assist with production for weddings, tournaments, brunches, holiday events, and member functions
- Execute recipes and menu items according to chef specifications
- Maintain organized stations, prep areas, and storage spaces
- Support buffet setup, replenishment, and event execution as needed
- Ensure food is cooked, held, and presented to quality standards
- Follow sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist with breakdown, cleaning, and proper storage after events
- Work closely with chefs, stewards, and front-of-house teams to ensure successful events
- Prior experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, hotel, club, or high-volume kitchen preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality required
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies/equipment as needed
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak event periods
- Culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus
- Buffet and plated banquet service
- High-volume prep production
- Knife skills and station organization
- Experience with private clubs, resorts, hotels, or event venues
