MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs all aspects of billing for professional services. Complete or initiates original billing for one or more pay classes including follow up on bills with insurance companies. Utilizes resources available including websites to ensure full compliance of federal Medicare and Medicaid law and regulation provision, and in keeping with the health center mission.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION
None

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Two years clerical/bookkeeping experience; or
Successful participant of SRHC Medical Billing Intership Program

REQUIRED REGISTRATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Applicable Resuscitation and other position-related certifications must be obtained within the timeframe established by SRHC policy.

Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers up to 10 pounds
Primarily sedentary work
Manual dexterity and mobility
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less

WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
Subject to many interruptions; pressure due to multiple calls, inquires, and/or deadlines
