Position Summary

The role is responsible for driving revenue growth through the management of existing customer relationships and the acquisition of new business within the commercial HVAC sector. This position requires a consultative, relationship-based sales approach focused on complex commercial projects and longer sales cycles. The role is designed to evolve into a Vice President of Sales position, with responsibility for building and leading a sales team as the organization scales.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sales & Revenue Generation
    • Manage and expand relationships with existing commercial HVAC clients
    • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets
    • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve annual revenue targets
    • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations and proposals
    • Negotiate contracts and pricing in alignment with company objectives
    • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasting data
    • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes typical of commercial construction projects
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts
    • Conduct regular client meetings and site visits
    • Understand client needs and align company capabilities to deliver solutions
    • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, operations, service) to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly
  • Market Development & Strategy
    • Research and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments
    • Identify opportunities for market penetration and service expansion
    • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership
    • Represent company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Establish sales processes, systems, and best practices
    • Prepare for future team building responsibilities as business grows
    • Mentor and develop sales team members as organization expands
    • Contribute to strategic planning for sales department growth
    • Progress toward Vice President of Sales role with team leadership accountability
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Maintain CRM system and sales documentation
    • Prepare regular sales reports and performance updates
    • Manage sales-related expenses within budget guidelines
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
    • Minimum 5-7 years of successful sales experience in commercial HVAC industry
    • Must currently be working in HVAC sales (construction HVAC strongly preferred; equipment sales acceptable)
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, applications, and services
    • Knowledge of commercial construction processes and project cycles
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Strong presentation and negotiation abilities
    • Consultative sales approach with solution-oriented mindset
    • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to relocate to Fort Worth, TX area if not currently local
  • Ability to travel regularly for client meetings and site visits (approximately 30-50%)
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed for client requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience specifically in commercial HVAC construction sales
  • Established network of contacts within the commercial HVAC industry in Texas and surrounding regions
  • Previous leadership, management, or team development experience
  • Experience with complex, multi-phase commercial projects
  • Knowledge of energy solutions and building systems integration
  • Experience growing or scaling a sales organization

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work Environment
    • Flexible work arrangement: remote work, co-working spaces, or office-based as preferred
    • No daily office attendance requirement; primary office located in Fort Worth, TX
    • Regular travel to client sites, construction sites, and mechanical rooms
    • Occasional exposure to construction site conditions and equipment rooms
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to sit for extended periods during meetings and computer work
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site visits
    • Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
    • Ability to access construction sites and mechanical spaces (stairs, ladders, etc.)
