Field Service Engineer (Technician)
Location: Cleveland, OH (Onsite for 6 months; Hybrid potential thereafter) Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 Benefits

You will serve as the primary on-site technical authority for specialized equipment within the steel industry, ensuring peak operational performance through expert troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and client-focused consulting.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Execution: Provide expert on-site support, troubleshooting, and diagnostic services for mission-critical equipment in steel mill environments.
Maintenance & Reliability: Lead preventive maintenance programs and perform high-precision repairs to minimize downtime and optimize hardware-software interactions.
System Integration: Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams, execute necessary wiring modifications, and ensure seamless functionality across PLC and automation systems.
Client Consultation: Act as a technical advisor to clients, translating their operational needs into tailored technical solutions and resolving inquiries with a professional, solution-oriented approach.
Safety & Compliance: Operate with strict adherence to industrial safety regulations and standards inherent to heavy manufacturing and steel mill conditions.
Education: Associate’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related technical field is strongly preferred; equivalent military or practical experience will be considered.
Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in measurement and control technologies, electronics, and industrial software.
Automation Knowledge: Solid proficiency with PLC systems and their applications within a heavy industrial context.
Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic functions is essential.
Operational Readiness: Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably in demanding, high-activity industrial environments.
