Job Summary
The Automotive BDC Agent is responsible for managing inbound and outbound customer communications to generate showroom appointments and support the sales and service departments. This role plays a critical part in customer satisfaction, lead conversion, and dealership growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, texts, and internet leads promptly and professionally
- Set and confirm appointments for sales and service departments
- Follow up with new, unsold, and previous customers according to dealership processes
- Maintain accurate customer information and activity notes in the CRM
- Respond to online inquiries from website, third-party lead providers, and social media
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly contact and appointment goals
- Work closely with sales managers, service advisors, and management to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Provide customers with vehicle information, pricing guidance, and dealership policies (without negotiating deals)
- Conduct post-visit and post-sale follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction
- Adhere to dealership scripts, phone standards, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Previous BDC, call center, or automotive experience preferred (but not required)
- Strong phone presence with clear, professional communication skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of calls and leads
- Proficient with CRM systems, email, and basic computer applications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
