Housekeeper

Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Services is an independent 110 bed not for profit long-term and short-term skilled nursing facility conveniently located in a beautiful country setting in Salem, NH. Job Responsibilities:

• Communicating effectively with supervisor, coworkers, residents, and families
• Perform housekeeping functions in accordance with daily work assignments and established policies and procedures
• Clean/dust resident rooms, bathrooms, wastebaskets, common areas, kitchens, etc. using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
• Utilization of carpet cleaners, power scrubbers, buffers, dry and wet vacuums
• Use of industrial washer and dryers, washing and folding of laundry
• Assistance with groundwork to include, but not limited to, shoveling, spreading of salt, sand, etc.
• Furniture set ups and breakdowns
• Follow standards and practices for use of specific chemicals and emergency procedures
• Perform proper cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area as well as clean any vacant rooms as directed
• Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies are maintained in utility/janitorial closets/housekeeping carts and are kept clean and orderly
• Must be reliable with good attendance
• Experience preferred but willing to provide training

Physical Demands:

• Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, stretching and moving intermittently throughout the facility
• Use of industrial washer and dryers, washing and folding of laundry
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry 10 lbs, occasionally lift and transfer up to 25 lbs, regularly push wheeled cart exerting 40 lbs lateral force and support 50 lbs for brief duration
