Position: Full Time Director of Medical Records

Purpose:
- The primary purpose of the Director of Health and Revenue Systems is to perform assigned duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by your Supervisor, to ensure that a successful, viable Department is always maintained. It is also expected that you would create a positive atmosphere when dealing with patients, doctors, and all hospital personnel, as well as always maintain patient confidentiality. Primarily responsible includes facilitating the planning, organizing, and controlling of information technology in clinical areas, ensuring compatibility with other existing hospital information systems. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining the Hospital’s chargemaster, is the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the hospital and Professional Corp., monitoring and implementing government and third-party reimbursement regulations and coordinating compliance activities.
- This position may also require the employee to perform other related duties and activities as assigned by the Department Head.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum five years’ clinical healthcare related experience needed.
- Experience with the implementation of Hospital-Wide Computer Systems.
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement, with extensive knowledge of Medicare Payment Systems.
- Thorough understanding of CQI, Utilization Management, Prospective Payment System, Risk Management, and Infection Control programs.
- Understanding of HIPAA Privacy regulations and requirements.
- Understanding of electronic Health Information Exchange (HIE) principles
