Job Overview
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will report to the Accounting Supervisor at our Kernersville location with support of Salem One’s other locations. The individual will have primary Accounts Payable responsibilities, assist with AR and month-end close and preparation of financial records. The successful candidate will be flexible in their roles with a willingness to do what is needed to best support the company.
Duties
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for:
- Reviewing invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
- Matching invoices to purchase orders
- Ensuring prompt posting of vendor invoices and timely vendor payments
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assisting with the setup of new vendors
- Generating monthly reports
- Maintaining an accounting filing system
- Assisting the accounting team with other duties as needed
Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree or 2 years’ experience in a related field is the minimum requirement
Skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet assigned deadlines;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Skilled in MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Quadient or other AP automation software is helpful.
