DESCRIPTION

The Parent Referral and Data Specialist assists parents/guardians/families with child care consumer education and referrals with the aim of reflecting the unique needs of the family. Conducts data collection, maintenance, and analysis activities within Child Care Resource and Referral provider services department. Supports internal administrative and information technology support. You will:
- Conduct intakes of parents/guardians/families seeking child care education and referrals for care in-person and by phone to determine individualized child care needs.
- Utilize database system to provide customized child care referrals based on information collected in intake process to determine appropriate child care referrals.
- Communicate identified referrals for child care and appropriate consumer education information through mail, email, and/or telephone to parents/guardians and families to assist in connecting parents/guardians and families with available community childcare serves that meet individualized needs.
- Develop and maintain a system for ongoing collection and updating of provider data including provider information, vacancies, and fees per the policies and procedures set forth in the Illinois Department of Human Services approved statewide procedural documents. Includes annual contact of all identified service delivery providers on the referral database to inform them of services.
- Serve as liaison between departments and information technology outside vendors, including managing web-based help tickets and on-site troubleshooting as needed, to ensure information technology systems are functional and efficient.

Education and Experience
Required: Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields (ECE, Child Development, Child Psychology/Behavioral Sciences, Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, Family Services) with at least one year experience in tools used for data analysis (e.g., Excel) and implementing new software. Preferred: At least two years of experience listed previously, plus at least one year in an Early Childhood Education or Child Care Resource & Referral environment in addition to degree.
