Position Title: Graduate Assistant – Registrar and Academic Affairs
Reports to: Nicholas DeWitt, Registrar
Supervises: N/A
Primary function: The graduate assistant will support the Registrar’s Office and Academic Affairs Office. The primary function will be to provide administrative support, process basic student and faculty requests, assist with office functions and event preparation (specifically for Commencement and Registration), and work with data and the Ellucian Colleague records management system.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; must be actively enrolled in a SVC graduate program.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Office and Excel experience are preferred, but not required

Special Challenges And Environment
The Registrar’s Office and Academic Affairs Office require discretion, as the GA will often be asked to work with confidential records and information and could be privy to private conversations regarding students and faculty. Absolute confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Essential Duties
- Assist the Registrar’s Office in administrative tasks (reporting, data collection and cleaning, etc.
- Assist both offices with administrative support duties (answer e-mails, phone calls, handling in-person requests)
- Completing or assisting with special projects as assigned by the Registrar or the Academic Affairs office staff
- Assist the Assessment and Institutional Research department as requested.
- Assist with event preparation and planning as needed
