Position Title: Fred Rogers Institute Graduate Assistant
Reports to: Director
Supervises: N/A
Primary function: Be part of the Fred Rogers Institute’s work to understand and extend the legacy of Fred Rogers in serving children in childcare, schools, and communities. Contribute to one or more research and development projects across child development settings, including childcare, school, and other educational or health community settings. Actively develop and coordinate academic integration involving Fred Rogers Scholars and the Incubator 143 research and development lab. Work closely with Fred Rogers Institute and Saint Vincent College staff, faculty, and students to develop project actions and timelines. Work closely with community partners, including childcare, providers, schools, and other non-profit agencies, to establish and sustain project initiatives to help support and improve high quality professional practices with children in both early childhood and other developmental settings. Engage or lead in developing research and evaluation plans, training and learning experiences, and community organizing and coordination.
Required Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Institute-related field (Psychology, Education, Sociology, Human Development) is required; enrollment in a Saint Vincent College graduate program is required.

Required Qualifications

Experience
- An interest, and some experience, in working in research settings, with projects related to educational and child development programs, experience working with community organizations in a research capacity, and experience with mentoring and supervising students in a higher education setting.
- Technology proficient with computer and audio/video equipment.
- Engage and coordinate professionals in universities and community programs
- Connect with community partners, professionals, and parents\
- Coordinate action with community programs and organizations who serve children and youth through partnerships, collaborations, and contractual work
- Coordinate and collaborate with Fred Rogers Institute staff and faculty, Saint Vincent College faculty and students, and experts and students from other institutions in the context of the projects
- Assist in other related project initiatives at the Fred Rogers Center
