The Patient Liaison Days will:
- Round every hour on patients and their families in the surgical waiting room, and surgical conference room keeping patients and families informed; and document interaction.
- Receive patients and accurately verifying patient ID on arrival.
- Inform Coordinator Assistant Nurse Manager/Pre-op RN of potential issues and help to resolve them
- Help with patient flow by making phone calls, and directing patient/family to appropriate area.
- Communicate all necessary information from Surgeons/Preop/OR and PACU staff.
- Transport medications to and from the pharmacy or pneumatic tube station and deliver the medications directly to a licensed caregiver.
- May transport all medications except controlled substances and hazardous substances (eg. Chemotherapy).
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in customer service or with direct experience in Environmental Services
- Good public relations skills
