Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician I

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the basic cleaning of areas of property and facilities, general maintenance of the facilities building and common areas. Major responsibilities listed below are divided among the Facilities Maintenance Team. Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Major Responsibilities:
- Operate Gas Powered Equipment. May require long periods of time standing and walking with a gas powered backpack blower.
- Makes basic repairs to mailboxes, signs, pressure washers, garden hoses, beach showers and recycling receptacles and utility carts.
- Painting on various surfaces with latex, oil or epoxy paints. May require use of ladders, standing on roofs, etc.
- Makes basic carpentry, using a screw gun and power saw.
- Assist in Maintaining the pool, spa and water features cleanliness.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must know and follow safety first rules, working from heights, working in confined spaces, and other situations where conditions could be hazardous.
- Must be able to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Must work well with others.
Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have valid driver’s license, as driving is an essential function of the job.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work mostly outdoors in a variety of weather conditions to include heat. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders to 40 feet. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to be on foot the majority of the day. Day is mostly standing, walking and climbing ladders. Must be able to be on call nights and weekends. Must be able to lift 40 lb. on a regular basis and occasionally more, as well as wear equipment on the body up to 40 lbs. Due to the physical nature of the position, a uniform is supplied by Sailfish Point and required wear.
