Operations Manager
Our client is seeking an accomplished Operations Manager in Portland to lead a high-performing team of administrative associates, professional drivers, and front-line leaders. This is an opportunity for a hands-on operations leader who can develop people, strengthen performance, improve safety, and drive measurable business results. The Operations Manager will play a key role in creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while ensuring the operation consistently delivers exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop front-line leaders through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
- Promote a strong safety culture by developing safe, accountable drivers through targeted training, compliance oversight, coaching, and mentoring.
- Partner across the organization with other operational and support teams to identify challenges and implement solutions that effectively address customer needs.
- Analyze financial and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement, control costs, increase efficiency, and maximize overall business results.
- Establish annual performance objectives and metrics, then monitor progress to ensure teams remain on track to achieve and exceed expectations.
- Foster a positive, performance-driven work environment where employees are engaged, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, leaders, and business partners.
- Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to set goals, solve problems, and consistently deliver desired outcomes.
- Proven ability to coach, lead, motivate, and influence teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong leadership presence, sound judgment, and the ability to balance employee development with business priorities.
- Understanding of and/or experience managing a P&L would be a big plus.
