Job Description
- Lead the design, implementation, administration, and communication of employee benefit programs
- Oversee and manage external consultants, brokers, trustees, and service providers
- Ensure all benefit programs comply with applicable regulations, including IRS and ERISA requirements
- Develop and maintain competitive, cost-effective benefit programs to attract and retain talent
- Partner with HR leadership to support and execute Total Rewards strategies aligned with business goals
- Manage and develop a team of benefits professionals, providing leadership and performance oversight
- Maintain and build relationships with external vendors, consultants, and actuaries
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, healthcare reform)
- Evaluate, implement, and improve benefits processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with HRIS and IT teams to enhance systems and automate benefits administration
- Serve as an escalation point for complex benefits issues and process improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
Certifications
- HR-related certification preferred (e.g., CEBS, CBP)
Experience & Skills
- 10 years of experience managing benefits operations in a complex or multi-entity organization
- Experience administering retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), pension, non-qualified plans) and health & welfare programs
- Strong knowledge of benefits compliance, plan design, and implementation
- Experience with HRIS systems required
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA, IRS, DOL)
- Experience with wellness program development preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate issues appropriately
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and benefits administration tools
Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
