Safely and efficiently build precision automation equipment with great attention to detail and quality.
Primary Responsibilities
Machine Builder perform a wide range of duties such as:
- Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, and knowledge of machine construction
- Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual, and plans machine building operations
- Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist, screws, bolts, weld parts together
- Properly handle and safely use variety of hand power tools including but not limited to saws, grinders, sanders, drills, precision measurement instruments.
- Verifies conformance of parts to stock list blueprints, using measuring instruments, like calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Working knowledge of Bridgeport, Lathe, surface grinder setup and operation.
- Ability to operate forklift and crane
- Quality awareness
- Assembles, set up, operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customers specifications
- Tests operation of assembly by hand
- Provide guidance and feedback to less experienced builders while maintaining a safe and positive work environment
- Work with Engineering to identify root cause of all issues and document/implement corrective actions
- Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments, like dial indicators, thickness gauges and gauge blocks
- Shipping and receiving capability: help to ship and receive equipment
- Follows all safety requirements and communicates any safety concerns
- Perform and assist with other duties as assigned
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies
Qualifications
- Must be able to focus and concentrate to ensure safety and quality of work
- Must be detailed oriented
- Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Power Point), Outlook
- Trained and authorized to operate forklift
- Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player, and contributes to building a positive environment
- Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Must adhere to all company policies as communicated
- Ability to work over-time to meet project deadlines
- Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Education
High school diploma, technical certification or equivalent education required
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of machine building or related experience
Work Conditions
This job operates in a shop environment, with daily exposure to machinery and potential non-hazardous chemicals and lubricants. Machine noise may escalate when testing.
Physical Requirements
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs., with greater lifting requirements being done with an overhead crane, if needed. Requires moving around machines and tight spaces.
Direct Reports
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
Traveling on-site to customers location may be required (Up to 10% Travel)
Salary : $30 - $35
