Title: House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)
Location: Potomac, MD 20854
Employment Type: Part-time (10-15 hours/week with opportunity to grow)
Proposed Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $32–37/hour, based on experience.
Requirements:
- Maintain a smoke-free environment

Proposed Schedule:
- 2-3 days/week from approximately 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Provide occasional day-care pick up by 5pm and occasional date night childcare (1x/week)

We’re a lively, close-knit family of five with three young children (ages 4.5, 2.5, & 1) who keep our home full of laughter and energy. We also have a sweet and playful dog who still acts like a puppy. Both parents work remotely in demanding roles, balancing professional commitments with the busy, beautiful chaos of family life. Our kids are in daycare full-time, just a short drive away.

Our goal is to find someone who can help us stay organized, manage the day-to-day tasks that come with raising young kids, and keep our home running smoothly, so we can focus on what matters most—being present with each other. Who You Are / What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is kind, patient, and friendly, with a strong ability to manage the many moving parts of a busy household. Our ideal candidate will be a great communicator, comfortable working independently, and proactive in ensuring the home runs efficiently. You’ll be comfortable working around kids, pets, and supporting busy parents. We need someone who is adaptable and flexible, able to handle the variety of tasks each day may bring—whether it’s preparing meals, organizing toys, or helping out with a last-minute errand. Above all, you’ll be someone who brings positivity to the home and enjoys making the daily grind a little easier for the family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Household Management & Organization
- Maintain household organization systems, including toys in the basement, sunroom, and family room
- Manage seasonal clothing swaps, packing, and storing kids' clothes
- Maintain kitchen organization (fridges, pantry, and household supplies)
- Coordinate donation pickups and deliveries
- Supervise or coordinate with service providers, e.g., cleaners, landscapers
- Reset and tidy rooms daily, ensuring the home is prepped for cleaning services once per week.
- Meal Planning & Preparation
- Plan and prepare 4 healthy, family-friendly dinners per week (prioritizing lean meats, chicken, veggies, etc.)
- Batch prep items for daily green smoothies and lunch for parents
- Prepare healthy snacks for the children and ensure breakfast items are stocked and ready for their use
- Shop for groceries and meal-related items
- Clean the kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
- Laundry & Linen Care
- Manage household laundry (clothing, bedding, towels) 2x per week
- Steam clothes on occasion
- Rotate and refresh linens, bedding, and towels as needed
- Ensure laundry area is tidy and well-stocked
- Pet Care
- Occasionally walk the dog and manage care (preparing food and keeping supplies stocked)
- Ensure pet appointments (vet, grooming) are scheduled
- Handle dog food prep (batch cooking with rice, meat, and veggies weekly)
- Errands & Household Tasks
- Run local errands such as dry cleaning, grocery shopping, gift shopping, etc.
- Support with home projects (e.g., toy closet and storage maintenance)
- Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
- Perform occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
- Organize special projects like toy storage or seasonal décor
- Family Support & Child Assistance
- Provide occasional childcare, including date nights (1x/week)
- Support daycare pick-ups and assist with prepping backpacks, snacks, and school items
