Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and organized Program Manager to lead assigned customer programs from proposal development and contract award through delivery and acceptance. This position is responsible for coordinating bids, schedules, budgets, technical requirements, customer communication, and cross-functional activities to ensure programs are accurately proposed and successfully completed.
The Program Manager works closely with Business Development, Estimating, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Contracts, and company leadership to prepare competitive proposals, manage program performance, and resolve schedule, cost, and technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support contract proposals, bids, estimates, and customer requests for quotation.
- Coordinate technical, schedule, labor, material, and supplier inputs for proposals.
- Review solicitations, statements of work, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Manage assigned programs from contract award through final delivery and acceptance.
- Maintain program schedules, budgets, deliverables, risks, and action items.
- Coordinate activities across Business Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Contracts.
- Serve as the primary customer contact and provide regular program updates.
- Monitor program performance and address schedule, cost, technical, and resource issues.
- Lead program meetings, reviews, testing events, and customer discussions.
- Support change requests, contract modifications, invoicing milestones, and follow-on proposals.
- Provide regular status reports to company leadership.
Qualifications:
- Strong program management, proposal development, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage bids, schedules, budgets, risks, customer expectations, and multiple priorities.
- Ability to read and understand solicitations, contracts, technical documents, engineering drawings, and program requirements.
- Ability to develop clear proposal inputs and coordinate estimates across multiple departments.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.
- Aerospace, defense, aviation, simulation, or custom manufacturing experience is preferred.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Previous program, project, proposal, contract, or manufacturing management experience.
- Experience supporting bids, estimates, proposals, and customer-facing programs.
- Strong organizational, computer, and documentation skills.
- PMP certification or related training is preferred but not required.
- Strong ability to meet established deadlines.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to walk production areas and review work in progress.
- Ability to read contracts, solicitations, schedules, drawings, and technical documents.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
