What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder Intern position at SAFETY RAIL COMPANY LLC?
Safety Rail Company is seeking a full-time welding intern to join our manufacturing team in Chanhassen, MN. Welders have a key role in the process of manufacturing our fall protection safety products to certification requirements. This opportunity is for someone who does not have enough welding experience to join the team as a welder, but has a lot of drive and motivation to learn the trade of welding through paid work experience.This is a safety sensitive position: Stringent adherence to SRC policies and safety requirements is crucial. This position is subject to ongoing non-DOT Drug and Alcohol policy during employment.
- Safe operations of equipment in work cell
Saw, Mill, Baliegh, Winton Bender, and Mid Rail Crusher in Manual and Automatic - Loads and unloads rail robot
- Ability to repair bad welds from the robot
- Ability to weld small parts and simple weldments when instructed
- Safe operations of all welding equipment and proper use of all PPE
- Welding helmet, Safety glasses, Welding jacket and gloves
- Can weld using the GMAW process
- Utilize technology for processing jobs and communication
- Clocking, Inventory, Job Completion
- Adherence to the attendance policy
- All other duties as required
- Shift: Monday through Friday 6:00-2:30, with OT opportunities.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (100 lbs.) and perform various physical tasks such as bending, stooping, sitting, walking, twisting, and standing.
Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional, safe, and businesslike manner while maintaining a highly motivated, positive, and collaborative attitude.
Reliability: Can make the daily commute to Chanhassen, MN and maintain good attendance.
Pre-employment Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, full panel drug screening, and physical work simulation.
Training: Completion of necessary training requirements provided by SRC.
