Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (Medical Device)
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6–12 Month Contract
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in medical devices and electro-mechanical systems. This role focuses on the design and development of capital equipment, including sheet metal enclosures, motion systems, and integration of motors, sensors, and actuators in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical systems
- Design sheet metal enclosures and support injection molded components
- Integrate motors, sensors, actuators, and cabling into system designs
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams
- Develop and execute DFMEA and validation/test protocols
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and quality standards
- Act as a technical lead for design initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years of experience in the medical device industry
- Strong experience with SolidWorks
- Expertise in capital equipment / instrumentation design
- Hands-on experience with motors, sensors, and actuators
- Strong background in sheet metal design and enclosures
- Experience with injection molding components (Must Have)
- Knowledge of FDA compliance, DFMEA, and validation testing
