Job Description
S-Works Construction Corp. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in an upbeat but fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in the financial success of complex construction projects.
You will partner closely with Project Managers and field teams to ensure accurate financial tracking, proactive risk management, and successful project delivery.
Daily Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting functions for assigned construction projects from start-up through close-out
- Perform job cost accounting, including: Budget tracking, and maintenance; Subcontractor accounts payable and invoice processing; and Owner/client billing
- Assist with change order tracking and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting in ERP systems
- Monitor project costs, identify variances, and provide forecasting and analysis
- Partner with Project Managers to review project financials and recommend risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and accounting standards
- Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and completeness, including management of lien waivers
- Manage subcontractor setup and compliance, including collection of W-9s and insurance documentation (COIs)
- Serve as a financial resource to project teams, providing guidance and support as needed
- Lead financial aspects of project close-out, including final billings and reconciliations
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance initiatives
Qualified Candidates Have the Following Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience may be accepted.
- 2-5 years of commercial construction project-related accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore. Exposure to Sage Intact's ERP system, Procore's financial module or other similar construction accounting ERP systems is a major plus.
- Must be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual able to work independently.
- Experienced multitasker with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality work.
- Detail oriented, organized, and a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
