Position Summary:
We are seeking an Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs within a regulated work environment. This role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting safety initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace across departments
Additional Details:
Pay range: $50 to $ 55/hour on W2 as per your experience
Contract Length: 12 Months with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities
The Environmental Health and Safety Engineering Associate is responsible for supporting,
developing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of environmental, health, and safety
programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal
regulations and to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the
organization. This role involves hands-on work, program management, training, and incident response. The individual will work collaboratively with various departments to identify and mitigate EHS risks, drive continuous improvement, and ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local requirements) and maintain required records and reports.
- Conduct EHS inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Lead or support incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs and promote a strong safety culture.
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in regulatory inspections, emergency response activities, and safety committee initiatives.
- Track safety metrics, analyze EHS data, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Professional Safety & Health Officer/Specialist, Occupational Health and Safety,
Industrial Hygiene, or a related field certification (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered) - Minimum of 5 years experience in an EHS role, preferably in a biotechnology, medical device, or manufacturing environment.
- IACUC, animal care, and husbandry.
- Demonstrated experience with EHS program development and implementation.
- Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS audits.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple
priorities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including grammar and punctuation),
including the ability to develop and deliver effective training. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
