Position Summary:
- The Principal Engineer role is a senior, hands-on architecture position focused on designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud-native platforms that support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives.
- The role requires strong expertise in Java and/or Python, deep system design knowledge, and experience building distributed systems at scale. This position is centered on developing modern cybersecurity platforms, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, and enabling secure adoption of cloud and AI-driven services. The engineer will work across multiple teams to define ecosystem-wide architecture, improve developer experience, and contribute to large-scale platform modernization efforts. This is a highly technical, architecture-heavy role requiring experience with Azure and/or GCP, Terraform, SQL, and cloud security practices. Strong understanding of vulnerability management, risk mitigation, and DevSecOps principles is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence engineering decisions across teams.
Key Responsibilities
D2D:
The Software Developer will support the Cyber Security portfolio within Cyber Data Risk & Resilience (CDRR), contributing to the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable technology solutions.
This role focuses on building modern cybersecurity platforms, enhancing system architecture, and enabling secure adoption of cloud and AI-driven services.
Responsibilities:
-Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions supporting cybersecurity initiatives
-Partner with engineering and AI/ML teams to integrate security into deployment pipelines and cloud-based AI services
-Re-architect core components using modern design patterns to improve scalability, resiliency, and availability
-Develop and enhance distributed systems leveraging event-driven and service-oriented architectures
-Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned to business needs
-Support secure development practices across CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
-Contribute to system design decisions, performance optimization, and technical problem resolution
-Build and maintain data storage solutions across relational and non-relational systems
-Ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and governance requirements
Project:
- Cyber Security Oriented Projects
- Development and building new software integration with tooling and vendor support.
- This is a Principle Engineering Role
- Design and integrate across the ecosystem AND will support more than one development team.
- Client is rearchitecting a lot of their core components right now due to AI/LLMs (Mythos)
- Looking for more technical exp
- This person will be technical oriented, but much more Senior in a sense that they will come in and help design and implement. Think about the ecosystem as a whole. "Developer Experience"
- This teams customers is the 20 K developers across the firm and they need to ensure their lives are much easier going forward. So the solutions they build will be centered around those folks
- Security, vulnerability and risk mgmt will be very important at this scale
Must Have skills:
- 10 Experience working within either Java AND/OR Python (Hands On)
- Strong Understanding of object oriented design and application architecture
- Design, Implement Eco as a whole
- Vulnerability and Risk mgmt
- Azure and/or GCP Exp (Cloud Platforms)
- Terraform or Good understanding of how Infrastructure-as-code works
- SQL Exp
- Understanding of how the database tables interact and ability to navigate
- Strong Communication and Self- Starter
- This is a SENIOR level role. Must be confident and articulate
