Job Title: Mutual Fund Accountant / Fund Accounting Analyst
Location: Milwaukee, WI or Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $30–$33/hour on W2
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fund Accounting Analyst to support daily accounting and operational activities for mutual funds. This role is responsible for maintaining fund accounting records, performing reconciliations, preparing journal entries, supporting net asset value (NAV) calculations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger records and accounting transactions for investment funds.
- Prepare and review daily journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
- Perform cash, bank, and portfolio reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and related validations.
- Process and review corporate actions, including dividends, stock splits, mergers, and other security events.
- Analyze portfolio pricing and validate security valuations.
- Record and monitor fund expenses, accruals, and payments.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting packages.
- Collaborate with internal teams, custodians, administrators, and other external partners to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with audits, financial reporting, and compliance activities.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and established procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting, finance, fund accounting, reconciliation, or financial operations experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, journal entries, and accruals.
- Experience performing account reconciliations and analyzing financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mutual funds, fund accounting, investment accounting, or financial services operations.
- Knowledge of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
- Familiarity with securities, investments, or portfolio accounting.
- Experience working with financial reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.
