Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems for small to mid-scale projects. This role involves technical analysis, project coordination, field support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and successful project execution.
Additional Details:
Pay range: $50 to $ 58/hour on W2 as per your experience
Contract Length: 6 Months with the possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed electrical design for small to mid-scale projects, including:
- Drawing mark-ups
- Load calculations
- Short circuit and coordination studies
- Voltage drop calculations
- Equipment specifications
- Conduct design reviews for large-scale projects to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Review electrical, security, fire alarm, data/telecom, and instrumentation & control drawings
- Provide field inspection and support for installation and implementation activities
- Identify, scope, and support energy conservation initiatives
- Troubleshoot power quality and electrical system issues in coordination with maintenance teams
- Support project engineering and management activities for electrical and related projects
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams on electrical issues
- Serve as a subject matter expert for utility systems, identifying bottlenecks and recommending corrective actions
- Support permit applications by providing technical input related to safety, health, and environmental requirements
- Review and approve engineering changes and updates impacting electrical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, operations, and project stakeholders
- Contribute to team initiatives and support knowledge sharing across departments
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical standards, codes, and construction practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams and ladder logic drawings
- Understanding of project lifecycle phases: initiation, design, construction, and commissioning/validation
- Solid engineering fundamentals with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- EIT or PE certification is preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
