Configuration Management (CM) Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid – onsite days discussed during interview)
Pay Rate: $55–$56/hour
Position Overview
The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist supports engineering teams across complex system, hardware, and software development projects. This role ensures product lifecycle data is consistently controlled, documented, baselined, and archived according to internal plans and standards. The CM Specialist plays a key role in maintaining data integrity, administering CM tools, supporting change control activities, and ensuring compliance throughout development and release.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure CM activities comply with established plans, processes, and standards.
- Maintain product configuration baselines and communicate lifecycle data clearly.
- Support integration of processes involving configuration control, change management, and formal release of data.
- Manage media and archive storage to protect data integrity and ensure retrievability.
- Serve as a quorum member on the Change Control Board (CCB).
- Enforce documentation review and approval processes.
- Administer CM tools and maintain configuration indices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance CM tools and workflows.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with configuration control, quality assurance, or process compliance.
- Familiarity with product development (software, hardware, or systems).
- Background in process development, compliance, or continuous improvement.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to present technical information clearly to senior engineers and management.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
