Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with and advise clients on matters such as estate planning, asset protection, powers of attorney, living wills, deeds, Medicaid planning, and Veteran’s Aid & Attendance.
- Represent and advocate for clients in civil litigation involving guardianships, will disputes, tortious interference with inheritance, and other estate-related conflicts.
- Perform thorough legal research, evaluate findings, and develop effective legal strategies tailored to client needs.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, team members, and other stakeholders through meetings, phone calls, and written correspondence.
- Guide clients through the execution of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and benefits-related paperwork.
- Actively contribute to the firm’s marketing efforts through participation in social media content and video initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina.
- At least five years of experience in civil litigation, elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, and Veteran’s Aid & Attendance.
- Strong understanding of laws, regulations, and procedures related to estate planning, trust and estate administration, elder law, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits.
- Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing a substantial caseload efficiently.
- Client-focused mindset with the ability to empathize, assess needs, and provide thoughtful solutions during difficult situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, and handling sensitive discussions.
- Technologically proficient with the ability to quickly adapt to new software and tools.
