A day in the life
You start by loading a new job on a Mazak VMC, dialing in tooling and offsets for optimal performance. A quick pivot to a Mazak HMC has you refining a Mazatrol program, blending in some G-code for complex features. With gauges in hand, you verify critical dimensions, collaborate with engineering to streamline a toolpath, and coach operators through a tricky setup. Before you wrap up, you document production data and leave a safe, organized work area ready for the next run.
What you’ll do
- Set up and operate Mazak VMC and HMC equipment to meet specifications and timelines.
- Create and adjust CNC programs using Mazatrol and G-code for accurate, repeatable results.
- Perform tool changes, manage offsets, and fine-tune parameters for optimal cycle times and surface finish.
- Inspect parts with precision measuring instruments to ensure print compliance.
- Partner with engineering and production to improve machining processes and workflows.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and resolve problems quickly to minimize downtime.
- Record production data and maintain accurate job documentation.
- Lead and support a team of 2–3 milling operators, keeping work on track and assisting with issues as they arise.
What you’ll bring

- Demonstrated experience setting up and programming Mazak VMCs and HMCs.
