Pipe Laborer (Atlanta, GA)

Job Overview

The Pipe Laborer provides essential multi-discipline support for the installation and rehabilitation of large-diameter sanitary sewer, water, and stormwater systems. This role involves manual earthwork, material handling, and site maintenance to support production momentum.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute manual tasks including hand-digging, fine-grading, and the installation of trench shoring/shielding (trench boxes, slide rails).
• Assist in the staging and movement of pipe (DIP, PVC, HDPE) and bedding materials. Manage the cleaning and preparation of pipe joints for the Pipe Layer.
• Strictly follow OSHA standards for deep trenching, confined spaces, and heavy equipment spotting. Assist with the setup of safety perimeters and signage.
• Act as a spotter for heavy equipment and assist in the rigging and signaling of pipe and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area – oversee the proper storage and maintenance of hand tools and small equipment.
• Assist in rapid-response repairs and on-call emergency services as required by municipal clients.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in heavy civil, utility, or pipeline construction is preferred.
• Familiarity with various piping materials and basic trenching protocols is preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to work out of town as required by project schedules.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening/physical.
• Authorized to work in the US.
