What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Fitter | Pipe Layer position at Ruby-Collins, Inc.?
Applicant will have basic tools and experience to perform installation of flanged pipe, PVC pipe, threaded pipe, and underground pipe; according to sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions

- Perform layout – square, on line and on grade
- Work with and around heavy equipment to safely excavate and trench for underground pipe
- Plan-Sequence installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
- Cut pipe using saws, torches, or other means
- Thread pipe using threading machine
- Assemble and install pipe and pipe fittings; including those made of ductile iron, copper, stainless steel, and PVC
- Secure pipes and supports to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers
- Setup and test piping systems for leaks with air and/or water
- Knowledge and ability to use basic power tools
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the supervisor
- Must be physically capable of climbing, carrying up to 50 lbs, standing-walking up to 10 hour work days, working outdoors in adverse conditions
