Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Brief Description

The Maintenance Technician routinely performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and components to ensure the continued safe, efficient, and effective operations of equipment used in the facility. This position also assists with maintaining parts inventory, organizing, and maintaining the maintenance shop, as well as inspecting and diagnosing malfunctions and breakdowns and performs repairs. This person must be able to take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and lifespan.

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Completes repairs, performs preventative maintenance, and troubleshoots maintenance issues on all equipment
• Responds to production requests for immediate attention to production line breakdowns
• Assists in maintaining the organization of the maintenance shop and adequate parts inventory
• Document work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
• Communicates and collaborates with departments, including production, warehouse, and quality, regarding the status of maintenance projects and needs
• Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods

• Ensures plant is maintained and in accordance with housekeeping policies and guidelines
• Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations

• General computer skills, ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints and is capable of accurately distinguishing colors

• Must be available to work overtime as needed; with little, to no notice
• Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test

Education And Experience

• Two-year technical degree in maintenance preferred
• Minimum two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician preferred
• Preferred plastic extrusion experience
• Forklift and Scissor lift maintenance experience preferred
• Basic electrical knowledge preferred
  
  

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Working conditions in the role of a Maintenance Technician may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents

• Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment
• Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)
