The Material Handler position is responsible for staging materials for production and ensuring proper tracking and stewardship of materials in the warehouse inventory control system.
Work Schedule
- 1st Shift Production Schedule - 5:45 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner; must be medically cleared and trained to properly wear a dust mask respirator.
- Obtain and maintain in-house forklift operator certification; perform all forklift operation duties with utmost care and attention to detail.
- Follow all plant safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment; must follow housekeeping rules.
- Ensure customer materials are correctly identified, and warehouse locations are accurate.
- Read and understand material package labels and production process sheets.
- Follow the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) method of inventory usage.
- Properly use an RF scanner to ensure accurate inventory control.
- Perform all duties as assigned by Production Lead.
- Assist supervisors and managers with corrective actions and preventive measures as necessary.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standardized work processes while adhering to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Able to pass a forklift driving test and safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and procedures.
- Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.
- Must possess a positive attitude.
- Must be willing to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Able and willing to work in temperature extremes, both hot and cold.
- Must be medically cleared and trained to wear a respirator dust mask.
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
