Line Leader Job Description

Line leaders are responsible for managing and supervising production lines in manufacturing or operational settings. Their duties include:

• Overseeing production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to company standards
• Coordinating with other departments to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines
• Training and mentoring staff, including new employees, to ensure proper performance and adherence to safety protocols
• Monitoring employee performance, providing feedback, coaching, and resolving conflicts or production issues promptly
• Inspecting final products to ensure they meet quality control standards and addressing defects or faults
• Maintaining a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations 5s, 6s compliance
• Managing schedules and workload distribution, ensuring adequate coverage without overburdening staff
• Recordkeeping and reporting, including inventory management, order tracking, and production documentation per ISO standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in production or manufacturing, often 1–5 years, with prior supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams effectively
• Knowledge of production processes, product specifications, and quality standards
• Proficiency with computers and office software for reporting and scheduling
• Problem-solving abilities to address production setbacks and optimize workflow
• Understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a compliant work environment
