Billing Specialist

AIA Billing Specialist (Construction) – Plano, TX (Onsite, 5 Days/Week)

We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented AIA Billing Specialist to own billing for construction and renovation projects in a fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who can manage complexity, ensure accuracy, and drive timely revenue recognition while working cross-functionally with project teams.

What You’ll Own

• Full-cycle billing for construction projects (AIA and non-AIA)
• Preparation and submission of pay applications, invoices, and portal billing
• Review of contracts to ensure compliance with billing terms
• Coordination with Project Managers, AR/AP, and external partners to resolve billing issues
• Reconciliation of discrepancies and management of escalations
• Quality control of billing processes and continuous improvement initiatives

Critical Requirements (Must-Have)

• 3 years of construction billing experience (AIA required)
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (lump sum, T&M, cost-plus, etc.)
• Experience with pay applications and billing portals
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred

• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics AX or similar), ServiceNow, or Smartsheet
• Knowledge of OCIP/CCIP
• Hospitality or access control/door hardware project experience
