About the Job
We are seeking an Entry Level Controls Engineer in New Orleans to design, develop, test and support industrial control systems used in automated machinery. The position works alongside an experienced controls engineer and supports equipment across the full lifecycle, from initial design and factory testing through installation, commissioning and continuous improvement.
The opportunity suits a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is technically curious, detail oriented and ready to learn in fast-moving manufacturing and customer environments.
Benefits

Responsibilities
• Write, test, document and debug PLC and HMI software under established engineering standards
• Configure and integrate field devices including VFDs, sensors, encoders, solenoids and related equipment
• Support control systems through design, machine build, factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning
• Create clear technical documentation and training materials for engineers, technicians, customers and suppliers
• Provide structured remote and on-site troubleshooting support when required
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and manufacturing teams to improve system performance and standardization
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, controls, mechatronics, computer engineering or a closely related field
• Working knowledge of industrial computers, networking and system-integration concepts
• Ability to read electrical schematics, manufacturer drawings and technical manuals
• Academic, internship, co-op or project experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs or industrial automation
• Ability to organize multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail
• Ability to travel approximately 5-10% for project and commissioning needs
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with Schneider Electric, Allen-Bradley, Siemens or comparable control platforms
• Familiarity with industrial networking, servos and machine-safety systems
• Working knowledge of NEC or UL requirements, CAD software, scripting, SQL or data-collection tools
Working Pattern
The normal schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Project travel and occasional commissioning support outside standard hours may be required. Apply through LinkedIn with your current resume.
