Position Overview
The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the company by assisting with accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, analytical thinking, and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow into increased financial leadership responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Prepare and maintain financial reports and supporting documentation

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts

Assist with payroll processing and payroll reporting

Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities

Assist with cash flow tracking and reporting

Maintain accounting records and ensure proper documentation

Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls

Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance reporting

Work closely with company leadership to provide financial insights and operational support

Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
Qualifications

Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Previous accounting, bookkeeping, assistant controller, accounting manager, or financial administration experience preferred

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
