Position Overview

The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the company by assisting with accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, analytical thinking, and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities.

The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow into increased financial leadership responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

• Prepare and maintain financial reports and supporting documentation

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts

• Assist with payroll processing and payroll reporting

• Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities

• Assist with cash flow tracking and reporting

• Maintain accounting records and ensure proper documentation

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls

• Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance reporting

• Work closely with company leadership to provide financial insights and operational support

• Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, assistant controller, accounting manager, or financial administration experience preferred

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
