Director, HR

Rosnet LLC
Kansas, MO Full Time
POSTED ON 7/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/25/2026

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and people-first Director of Human Resources to join our team. Reporting directly to the SVP of People & Operations, this is a hands-on leadership role that will own the day-to-day HR function while helping shape the strategic direction of how we hire, develop, and retain talent.

You'll work closely with our HR Manager to provide mentorship, functional leadership, and continuity across the employee experience. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a clear path toward VP-level responsibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary processes
  • Ensure company policies, practices, and documentation are current, compliant, and consistently applied
  • Assist with payroll administration and ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, and vendor relationships — ensuring compliance with ACA, ERISA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations
  • Maintain and evolve the employee handbook, HR policies, and compliance calendar
  • Partner with legal counsel as needed on employment matters

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for professional and technical roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding coordination
  • Develop and maintain a consistent, positive candidate experience that reflects our employer brand
  • Build scalable hiring processes and tools, leveraging AI-powered platforms to improve efficiency and quality of hire
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, competency frameworks, and selection criteria
  • Analyze and report on recruiting metrics to identify areas for improvement

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and professional development support to our HR Manager
  • Help build a cohesive, high-performing HR team as the company grows
  • Model an HR leadership style that is approachable, employee-centered, and operationally sound
  • Identify capability gaps within the HR function and develop plans to address them

Strategic HR & Organizational Development

  • Partner with the SVP of People & Operations on workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning
  • Support manager effectiveness through coaching, training, and tools
  • Contribute to culture-building initiatives, working alongside the HR Manager on engagement and wellness programming
  • Use HR data and analytics to inform decisions and present insights to leadership
  • Stay current on HR trends, employment law, and emerging technology — and bring forward-thinking recommendations to the table

Required Qualifications

  • Experience & Credentials
    • 8–12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR role
    • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, HR compliance, and payroll/benefits administration
    • Experience recruiting across a range of roles, including technical positions
    • Prior experience working in a small or mid-sized company where you wore multiple hats is strongly preferred
    • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred, but not required
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Rippling, or similar)
    • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Greenhouse, Lever, or Workable
    • Comfortable with payroll processing software and benefits administration platforms
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including spreadsheet tools for HR reporting and data analysis
  • AI & Technology Fluency
    • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools in HR workflows — whether in recruiting, onboarding, communications, policy development, or analytics
    • Comfortable evaluating and adopting new HR technology
    • Able to help the broader HR team develop AI literacy and modern ways of working
  • Analytical & Functional Skills
    • Strong working knowledge of employment law (federal and state)
    • Comfortable operating independently while knowing when to escalate
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially in compliance and documentation
    • Ability to analyze HR data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
    • Skilled at building and improving HR processes, policies, and systems in a lean environment
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills
    • Exceptional communication skills — trusted by employees at every level of the organization
    • A natural mentor who invests in the growth of the people around you
    • Executive presence and the ability to influence without authority
    • Adept at navigating sensitive conversations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism
    • Collaborative by nature, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments

Competencies & Success Indicators

  • Accountability — Takes ownership of outcomes, follows through on commitments, and holds others to the same standard with fairness and respect
  • Business Acumen — Understands how HR decisions impact the broader organization and connects people strategies to business goals
  • Compliance Mindset — Proactively identifies risk, stays ahead of regulatory changes, and ensures the organization operates within legal and ethical boundaries
  • Coaching & Development — Invests genuinely in the growth of others; provides timely, constructive feedback and creates space for team members to stretch
  • Data-Driven Decision Making — Uses metrics, trends, and analysis to inform recommendations rather than relying solely on intuition
  • Adaptability — Thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and adjusts priorities without losing focus on what matters most
  • Integrity & Discretion — Handles sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and models ethical behavior at all times

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed in a hybrid work environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state laws.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to communicate clearly via video, phone, and written formats
