Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring we have the right raw materials, at the right time, to support efficient manufacturing. The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Ingredient Buyer to join our Procurement & Operations team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring we have the right raw materials, at the right time, to support efficient manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to build strong supplier relationships, negotiate competitive pricing, and contribute to cost savings initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor raw material inventory levels and place timely purchase orders to support production.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure accurate pricing, specifications, lead times, and service levels.
- Source and evaluate new raw materials and vendors as needed, including annual bid processes.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to align inventory needs with operational goals.
- Execute purchase contracts, manage vendor communications, and resolve service issues.
- Analyze market trends to anticipate pricing fluctuations and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide coverage for other buyers as needed to ensure seamless procurement operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 2-4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience (preferred). ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing or knowledge of food labeling laws is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
