Job Summary

Job Summary

Under supervision, assists certificated staff with the instruction, supervision, and training of individual or groups of special education students with severe disabilities, performs a variety of one-on-one physical care and instructional support activities, and performs related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

Previous Paraeducator I experience. Toileting is preferred but not required. Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or possession of an AA degree or higher; or verification of having obtained a passing score on a district-approved proficiency assessment demonstrating knowledge of, and ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.

Must submit on-line application through EdJoin to apply (required documents must be scanned and added to the EdJoin application as attachments).

Note - this position is for the 2026-27 school year, starting on or around August 3, 2026. This position will be working in the Special Education Department at Oakmont High School. Applicants must be eligible for possession of a current First Aid Card, as well as an Adult and Child CPR Card. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of July 27th. See job description for duties and requirements. Current RJUHSD employees interested in a lateral transfer or promotion must submit an application through EDJOIN for consideration. Current RJUHSD Paraeducators are encouraged, but not required to submit a letter of recommendation, resume, and letter of introduction. Current RJUHSD Paraeducators do not need to submit proof of higher education.
