Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, supports, and maintains enterprise network/wireless infrastructure across client facilities including data centers, rail stations, bus garages, office buildings, transportation hubs, dispatch centers, maintenance facilities, and remote locations
- Designs, implements, and supports wireless cellular technologies including LTE, 5G, DAS, wireless WAN (WWAN), and mobile network solutions
- Supports highly available network/wireless infrastructure for 24x7 transportation operations with focus on resiliency, redundancy, and operational continuity. Performs cellular/wireless signal analysis, coverage validation, interference troubleshooting, and cellular performance optimization
- Supports out-of-band (OOB) connectivity solutions utilizing cellular technologies for remote infrastructure management and resiliency
- Determines and analyzes user requirements for voice and data services/equipment. Participates in vulnerability remediation, security audits, incident response, and infrastructure hardening initiatives
- Evaluates technical and cost proposals for telecommunications equipment, systems and services and prepares recommendations to immediate supervisor
- Performs voice and data traffic engineering analysis to assure that telecommunications services are optimized and satisfactory level of service is maintained/improved
- Participates in vulnerability remediation, security audits, incident response, and infrastructure hardening initiatives
