Job Purpose:
- The Title Clerk manages all vehicle title and registration processing for Ron Marhofer Auto Family, ensuring accurate, timely DMV filings, lien payoffs, and title compliance while keeping management informed on outstanding title status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process new and used vehicle titles and registrations with precision and efficiency.
- Verify lien payoffs and ensure title accuracy to maintain legal compliance.
- Submit legal transfers to the DMV promptly and accurately.
- Prepare payoff checks and tax/title documents in accordance with dealership policies and state regulations.
- Conduct monthly title inventory to ensure all documents are accounted for and up-to-date.
- Track outstanding title work and provide regular updates to the Controller to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain open communication with management regarding title status and any potential issues.
- Ensure adherence to state DMV title regulations and dealership protocols.
- Cross-train other title and administrative staff as needed to promote operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Education:
- Associate's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
- Ohio Notary certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Required Experience:
- 1-2 years of title clerk, DMV processing, or dealership administrative experience.
- Familiarity with title applications, lien payoffs, and tax/title documentation preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior title clerk experience in a multi-location auto dealership.
- Working knowledge of state DMV title regulations.
- Experience training or cross-training other title/admin staff.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to interpret title regulations.
- Effective written/verbal communication.
- Valid driver's license meeting dealership insurability requirements.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Ohio Notary certification.
