Job Summary
Safe Hands Home Health Care & Hospice is seeking a Hospice Chaplain who can bring comfort, peace, and spiritual support to our patients and their loved ones. This role is deeply meaningful, helping families find strength, hope, and understanding during life’s most delicate moments.
As part of our interdisciplinary hospice team, the Chaplain provides emotional and spiritual care to patients and families of all faiths and beliefs, helping them navigate the end-of-life journey with compassion and grace.

Responsibilities

Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, caregivers, and families according to their individual beliefs and preferences.

Create a safe, compassionate space for reflection, prayer, and peace

Respect and honor the diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds of those we serve

Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and other hospice team members to ensure holistic care

Offer bereavement and grief counseling support to families throughout the care journey and after loss

Lead or assist in memorial, funeral, or remembrance services upon request

Maintain accurate documentation of visits, interventions, and patient needs

Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to align care plans
Qualifications

Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Theology, or related degree from an accredited institution

Endorsement or certification from a recognized faith community

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospice, pastoral care, or healthcare chaplaincy

Ability to offer inclusive, interfaith spiritual care with warmth and sensitivity

Excellent communication and listening skills

Knowledge of hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary teamwork

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
