What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Developer position at Roebuck Wholesale Nursery and Landscaping, Inc?
“Be the Driving Force Behind Bright Landscapes’ Growth in Commercial Maintenance”
Help Build the Next Chapter of Bright Landscapes
Bright Landscapes has built a strong reputation throughout Alabama, and now, as part of Roebuck Landscaping, we are building on that foundation and preparing for our next chapter of growth.
We are looking for a Business Developer who is a proven relationship builder and hunter who knows how to create opportunities, earn trust, and turn relationships into long-term commercial partnerships.
You will be responsible for expanding our Commercial Landscape Maintenance portfolio, developing relationships with property managers, facility leaders, developers, owners, and other key decision-makers throughout our market.
We aren't looking for someone who simply waits for RFPs. We want someone who gets in front of opportunities early, understands the customer's needs, and positions Bright Landscapes as the right long-term partner.
What You'll Own
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified Commercial Landscape Maintenance opportunities.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers and referral partners throughout the market.
- Prospect proactively and create opportunities before they reach the RFP stage.
- Lead site walks, discovery meetings, proposals, presentations, negotiations, and closing.
- Partner closely with Operations and Estimating to develop competitive, profitable solutions.
- Maintain disciplined CRM activity, pipeline management, forecasting, and follow-up.
- Ensure a seamless handoff to Operations after the sale.
What Success Looks Like
- $1.5M in new recurring maintenance contracts within your first 12 months.
- 20 new prospect meetings per month.
- A healthy, measurable pipeline that supports continued growth.
- Profitable, sustainable partnerships rather than simply chasing revenue.
We are looking for someone with commercial B2B sales or business development experience who is comfortable creating relationships from the ground up. Landscape industry experience is valuable, but we are more interested in finding the right person than checking every box on a résumé.
Bright Landscapes has earned its reputation through its people, relationships, and commitment to its customers. As part of Roebuck Landscaping, we now have an even greater opportunity to build on that legacy while preserving the Bright Landscapes identity and reputation that got us here.
This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Bright Landscapes and grow alongside us.
