Description

Rod 'N' Reel Resort is seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of the hotel while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence. This leadership role is responsible for assisting with the oversight of Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Facilities operations, supporting team member development, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the hotel operates efficiently and profitably.

The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to drive guest satisfaction, team engagement, operational consistency, and financial performance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Facilities, and guest service functions.
  • Provide visible leadership and support to hotel operations team members while maintaining a strong presence throughout the property.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of hotel operations team members.
  • Assist department leaders with performance management, accountability, and team member engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and hotel facilities to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are maintained.
  • Respond to guest concerns and service recovery situations promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in managing labor costs, departmental expenses, and operational efficiencies.
  • Review operational reports and occupancy forecasts to support effective staffing and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Facilities and Maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Support emergency response procedures and serve as a resource during operational incidents.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, trainings, and resort initiatives.
  • Provide leadership coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed.
  • Partner closely with the General Manager to support operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and long-term departmental goals.
  • Support organizational goals by undertaking additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as directed by the General Manager, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), or Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive hotel or hospitality leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest service standards, and team leadership.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, and operational reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively coach, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the property.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Ability to inspect guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas, and hotel facilities.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Salary : $82,000 - $92,000
