Barista

Description

As a Barista at the Rod N’ Reel you will create a welcoming atmosphere by providing outstanding coffee, beverage, and light food service to resort guests. You’ll ensure that every cup served is of the highest quality while maintaining cleanliness, speed, and guest satisfaction. You are the face of the café and play a key role in enhancing our guest experience. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, teas, and smoothies. 
• Greeting all guests warmly and engage in friendly conversation to enhance the resort experience. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area including counters, equipment, and seating areas. 
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards as outlined by the resort and local regulations. 
• Ensure all products are stocked and displayed attractively in the café area. 
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. 
• Stay knowledgeable about menu items and make recommendations based on guest preferences. 
• Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve them promptly or escalate to management. 
• Support other F&B team members during busy periods or special events. 
• Uphold the resort’s image and brand through excellent service and appearance. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous barista or café experience preferred, ideally in a hospitality or resort environment. 
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and grinders. 
• Excellent customer service and communication skills. 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. 
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. 
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
