The opportunity
We’re building a team to modernize identity and access management for a large public university, and we’re looking for a Technical Architect to own the technical approach, lead a team of identity SMEs, and design the future of identity and access governance. This is a 12-month, fully remote engagement starting February 2027.
What you’ll do
- Serve as the senior technical authority across identity data, IGA, application RBAC and provisioning workstreams
- Design RBAC across Workday and Microsoft Entra ID, including role engineering and attribute strategy
- Guide identity integration, synchronization and provisioning design as provisioning moves to Workday and Entra
- Review all technical deliverables for accuracy and alignment with NIST CSF identity controls
- Lead technical workshops and present architecture recommendations to IT leadership
- Partner with the Project Manager on status, risks and technical dependencies
What you bring
- 12 years in IT, with 7 years architecting enterprise IAM/IGA solutions
- Deep Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory architecture experience
- RBAC architecture and role engineering at enterprise scale
- Identity integration, synchronization and provisioning design (including Workday-driven provisioning)
- Strong documentation and executive communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- CISSP, Microsoft SC-300, CIDPRO, or SailPoint/Saviynt architect certification
- Higher education IAM experience
- PeopleSoft-to-Workday identity transitions
- TOGAF or AZ-305
The details
- Fully remote, U.S.-based; core hours Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern
- 12-month engagement starting around February 15, 2027
- NO C2C or 1099

This position depends on a contract award expected in January 2027. We’re interviewing now so we can include the selected candidate in our proposal. Final candidates must be available for a 75-minute virtual client meeting during the week of November 30, 2026.
Salary : $170,000 - $210,000
