Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary Music Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will inspire young learners through engaging music lessons that promote creativity, cultural awareness, and a love for music. You will develop comprehensive curricula, utilize innovative learning technology, and support students’ overall development in a classroom setting that emphasizes both academic excellence and character building.
Responsibilities
- Implement dynamic music curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse learning needs
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that incorporate singing, instrument playing, movement, and listening activities
- Integrate technology to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with special needs ensuring inclusive participation
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a positive learning environment that encourages participation and respect
Education
- Bachelors degree in music or other related field.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience teaching elementary students in music or related subjects
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and effective classroom management techniques
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating learning technology tools.
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and staff effectively
Additional Requirements
- A strong, clear Christian testimony, acknowledging Jesus Christ as Savior, and seeking to live as His disciple.
- Must be a members/regular attender at a local Trinitarian church.
- A demonstrated acceptance without reservation of the Rocky Bayou Christian School Statement of Faith.
- A mature, Godly Spirit that desires spiritual growth as evidenced by his/her prayer life, Bible study and spiritual outreach to others.
- A Christian role-model (Luke 6:40) in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct.
- Must enroll any school aged children in Rocky Bayou Christian School or other approved Christian education venue.
- Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education course provided by Rocky Bayou Christian School.
